June 3rd, 2022

It's June and summer is in the air but we have still lots of work and cool projects that need to be done in Div. 11.

Updates/Thank You/Reminders:

*Thank you to Cooper's mom for putting together our last Scholastic that went home today.  A big thank you to both Kenzie and Cooper's mom for taking on this job all year.

*Extra Duo-tangs also went home today.  I sent them home separately so that you can save the for next year and they won't get mixed up with all their other ones.

*Please ensure that your child is ready for their Scientist Day.  If you have not received this information please email or have your child ask for a new project sheet.  This week our scientists have taught us about how when you poke pencils into a bag full of water, the water does not leak out, how different liquids layer when put together and why salt and pepper jump onto a magic spoon!

*Hopefully your child brought home their Story Necklace.  Mrs. Penner  a district literature teacher came to our class on Wednesday and shared a special story call A Girl and the Wolf.  The students then had to retell the story on their cards.  Please have your child share their necklaces with you.

*Smooth Rocks/Stones NEEDED for a special craft:  If your child hasn't already done this, each child is to please find and bring a small, smooth rock.  These should be no bigger than their pinky fingers. Could you please label it with tape or a post-it with your child's name and send it in asap.

Volunteers needed:  As the year is coming to a close I was hoping that some of you might be willing to wash some of our math and building manipulatives in preparation for the upcoming school year.     Dishsoap and warm water work best.  Thanks in advance to Cooper's mom who has already volunteered.

*Please remember that the book with the yellow post-it is the one that your child needs to practice for Reader's Workshop.  It should be in their planner bag.

*Also please be checking your homes for any classroom books and return them.

*Don't forget to wear Fairview colours (blue and yellow) or Fairview clothing on Fridays.

*The last two days we have had nice warmer weather, just a reminder to make sure your child has a water bottle, sunscreen and a hat when it is required.  We continue to enjoy our outside times.
