June 16th

This was one of our bulletin board that featured our Ted Harrison Art work!

We had the rest of our scientists and continue to learn so much.  We had Water Fireworks and then compared oil floating on the top of a jar to when there are oil spills in our oceans,  we saw the chemical reaction when Mentos and coke are put together and how you can get a cotton ball to float!

Reminders for our last few days of school...

*Fun Day is tomorrow.  Thank you to our amazing PAC who has organized this event.  Hopefully it will be a nice day! We will be outside the majority of the day (rain or shine) so please ensure that your child is dressed for the weather.  Colours for Fun Day below:  students should wear their colour (whether it is a shirt, pants, sunglasses, hat  (whatever be creative!)

Red: Akua, Janine, Cooper, Koston, Callum, Hunter

Blue: Kayden, Kenzie, Seth, Sam, Vivian*Note - some of these changed from last week due to absences

Green:  Matthew, Landon N., Ellery, Avin, Manhi, Emily

*Please send in a bag (cloth with handles is ideal) for school supplies by Monday so your child can organize and bring home all their school books and supplies.

*Please be checking your homes for classroom books.  I usually get a couple of piles of books that have gone missing or behind beds etc.  Thanks for taking the time to look.

*Your child will be bringing home their Poetry and More books tomorrow and they should now stay at home.

*Tomorrow will be our last day for planners so please keep them at home after the weekend.

*Tuesday, June 21st will be gum day in Div. 11.   Students are allowed to bring gum from home but must follow the rules that we have set out together in the class.

*Our final class celebration will be Wednesday, June 22nd (our last full day of school) Thanks to the following for providing our pre-packaged snacks:  Sam - chips, Landon R. - juice boxes,  Hunter - treats, Vivian - Rice Krispies, Bear Paws or packaged cookies,  Evan - fruit snacks or gummies (Not Seth, I made a mistake last time!)   ***Please bring them in by Tuesday, June 21st.

*Thank you to Callum's Mom for volunteering to clean a couple of our bins.  If anyone else could volunteer to take home a couple that would be really appreciated.

*If your child will not be attending school until next Thursday, please let me know to ensure they have all their belongings.  I have it planned that they will be bringing home their memory books the last day which is Thursday and probably their school supplies on Wednesday.

*Families below please find important information for the public library summer reading program.  I would encourage all the children to join.  It is a great way for them to maintain and strengthen their skills.

It's so hard to believe this year is almost over!  Enjoy your weekend.
